The second of our two Royal Academy of Music recitals is given
by the young British tenor, Magnus Walker accompanied by Alexandra Standing. They explore music born of the complicated relationship between the Schumanns and Brahms. Brahms was hopelessly in love with Clara Schumann and supported her through Robert’s illness and death. Brahms and Clara were life-long friends, maybe more but we know not. Their programme includes songs by Brahms and Clara Schumann as well as Robert Schumann’s song cycle, Liederkreis.
Performance ends at approximately 1.45pm
Supported by Ewan and Jenny Harper
