Oundle Cinema presents

Sunday, 24th September, 7.45pm

West St, Oundle, PE8 4EJ

Cast: Taraji P Henson, Octavia Spencer, Javelle Monáe, Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst

Director: Theodore Melfi
Release: 2016
Runtime 2hr 7 min

Based on a best-selling and groundbreaking book by Margot Shetterley, this movie tells the hitherto forgotten story of three black women in America and their stunning contributions to the sixties Space Race, at a time when the USA was falling behind the Soviets. Shocking in its portrayal of everyday segregation - you won’t forget the coffee pot or that long walk in those shoes - this movie tells its story in an accessible and uplifting way. Kevin Costner and a scary Kirsten Dunst do a good job in support while the three leads steal the show.

‘.. a story of NASA’s past that makes for compelling and important cinema.’ Simon Brew

All The Things I Lied About

Wednesday, 27th September

Presented by Paul Jellis and Katie Bonna
in association with Soho Theatre
Directed by Joe Murphy

Fringe First winner Katie Bonna is giving a TED talk on the science of lying. Well, that’s not quite true. TED haven’t actually asked her to do one - yet.

In a comic exploration of her past mistakes and inevitable future disasters, Katie unpicks how everyday lies can lead to a world of Trump and Brexit. A fearlessly honest show for the post-truth era.

Dirty Great Love Story, co-written and performed with Richard Marsh, won a Fringe First in 2012, and Katie was also nominated for Best Actress by The Stage.
