THE OLD RECTORY
Main St, Sudborough, NN14 3BX
The Oundle School Jazz Orchestras are playing a concert at The Old Rectory in Sudborough, in aid of the Lakelands Hospice, Corby and All Saints’ Church, Sudborough.
The Orchestras are made up of students from Oundle School, one of Britain’s leading public schools, whose music department has an enviable reputation for producing excellent musicians. Both Orchestras perform regularly in the area and tour extensively. Both are very highly regarded, and their concerts are always extremely popular.
The gardens at The Old Rectory, with their famous walled Potager designed by Rosemary Verey, are internationally recognised and usually only open to invited special interest groups or as part of the National Garden Scheme. The organising committee are therefore very grateful to Guy & Kate Toller for allowing the use of the gardens for our concert.
The concert will be held in a large marquee set within the grounds. Prior to the start of the concert, concertgoers can explore the gardens and woodland or take advantage of the tables set out on the sweeping lawns to have a pre-concert glass of wine. All Saints’ Church, which is within a stone’s throw of The Old Rectory, will be open to anyone who wishes to visit its medieval interior and learn of its history.
The gardens will open at 6.00pm, with the junior Orchestra playing at 7.30pm for approximately 45 minutes, followed by an interval and then the senior Orchestra will play its set until approximately 9.30pm.
