Oundle Cinema dOCs+ series presents
A PLASTIC OCEAN
Wednesday 20th March (7.30pm)
Fletton House, Oundle
Fletton Way, Glapthorn Rd, PE8 4JA
Director: Craig Leeson
Runtime: 1hr 40min
Australian journalist Craig Leeson, whilst searching for the elusive blue whale, unexpectedly discovers significant plastic waste floating in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Over the next four years, in collaboration with free diver Tanya Streeter and an international team of scientists, Leeson travelled to twenty locations around the world to explore the fragile state of our oceans. Superb shots of the marine environment contrast starkly with footage of heavily polluted cities and dumps full of plastic rubbish; this thought-provoking documentary also offers strategies that can be used to reduce its devastating impact.
‘The most important film of our time.’ David Attenborough
