Violin Diego Vassallo
Borodin Overture - 'Prince Igor'
Brahms Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky Symphony No.2 'Little Russian'
Diego Vassallo is the second soloist we are looking forward to working with again, this time in the Violin Concerto by Brahms, written in 1878 and dedicated to his friend the violinist Joseph Joachim. Born in Birmingham in 1993, Diego Vassallo began to play music aged 7. He frequently plays in many chamber music and orchestral ensembles, and as a soloist he has performed in several cities in both Argentina and the UK.
Folk-inspired music features in Tchaikovsky’s Second Symphony known as the ‘Little Russian’, which was well received at its first performance and has been popular ever since.
Our first Oundle concert of the season gets off to a rousing start with Borodin’s Overture ‘Prince Igor’.
